With that big of a Z wouldn't you need to do something for the trany mount? you would have to bring that up also wouldn't you? do you have to raise the tranny tunnel and all that inside the cab too?

Cut the TOP two inches off the frame under the cab and don't forget to reinforce this it should lay out once you move the body mounts down to the top of the new section. it should be the same as a 67- 72 check out my profile Http://www.streetsourcemag.com/Profile.aspx?profileid=27295

i think cuttin top off is more work than needed...bout the tranny mount question u are gonna have to redo it anyways because it hangs below the frame...not sure if u have to move it up but i know for a fact u got to redo the tunnel!

I'll chime in on what I did and learned on my 74. I sectioned the front crossmember 1.5", Z'ed it 2.5" so that gave me the 4" up front, I've got 2.5" spindles and Air Ride lowers. Whatever amount you Z it you need to raise the tranny the same amount, so I raised mine 2.5". I went and got a tunnel from a 4WD so I will weld that in and run a 4WD carpet kit so it will look stock.....I did cut the frame under my cab, what i did was weld a 2x4 box in the top side of the frame, then cut off what was left. I'll try and post some pics.
