We are making a panel to cover most of the airride just 1/2 of the tanks will be sticking out there is no spare tire well in these cars and the top folds down if I were to put it on top of the rear axle. As far as the slams go on the rear I thought they would be stif also but I installed them on my 66 and it rides awsome. "just like a cadillac" the ride is a bit siffer all the way around in this one however due to the lack of sidwall. I have found that the convoluted bags are ok in the rear of cars were there is some weight present but in the trucks over the axle ride like a brick.
sure, so does it lay frame or not?? obviously not but is it close, what didnt you cut or what did you, im just building one now and was wondering what all was in store
If you want to lay frame on a big tire you willl need to locate the strut rod to the botom of the LCA and loose or raise the front inner fenders. The rear gets a little more in depth. Innner fenders need to be raised, Frame has to be notched and floor needs to be raised and very well supported right above driveshaft and pumpkin. Thats where the bump stop is. Control arms need to be pie cut and reinforced to get the geometry back and a lot of other little things. You may have to possibly narrow the rear depending on the wheel offset.
