ok i have a '90 reg cab F/S cevy. I want to run a canti setup, keep my gastank where it is but raised, and I want all my bars facing forward. and i was thinking of making a custom wishbone like the one on "blazedbowtie82's" toyota. it one of my favorite trucks.
do you think i would have any problems because mine is a fullsize and my daily. btw by bars are gonna be a little more beffy and with superpivot bushing on the axel.. thanks,

I was thinking of making something like this:

everything made from 2x2x.25 from a differential bracket to the gastank x-member. want do you think?BTW its all gonna be square because I have no way of bending pipe...

It's prolly a good option for your truck, but if you wanna keep the stock tank why don't you just run the front bars with bags on em, outside the rails, and then do a nice long panhard bar just behind the diff? But the wishbone to one side that Seth did should work fine for you, just keep it as wide as you can at the front.

that will work but u really dont need to use 2x2 its overkill, and u can use pipe and cut the joints the same as u would with the square stuff and weld it..but yeah, the design set up like his will work

I think your trying to say a 2 link with the lowers solidly bolted to the axel. and if your not won't the axel pivot forward with no uppers. and yes im having my bags on lower bars outside my frame. this is just my upper.

i wanted to use 2x2 because i was just worried that the truck has a 350 and its my daily. and the toyota pictured above is b/ded with a 4cyl and probably wont be his daily.

Dude mine is pretty stout, its overkill for my truck. 1.5" round 3/16" wall tubing is more than enough for my truck, and should be plenty for yours. My wishbone is roughly 18 inches wire at the front, it locates the axle fine. I can't make the frame budge at all when its aired up. And a super pivot isnt a bad idea. Mine gets enough flex for me, about 2" dive per side with bushing give, maybe more. I don't see any reason why it wouldnt work for you.

Oh, leave as little space from where the angled bar connects to the main link and the pivot. It will make it stronger.

You are correct, I did intend that the two link would be solid mount to the diff.

This truck will be my daily! With a hopped up 4 banger. Still only about half a stock 350, but I'd trust my link setup with my small block with a routy cam without a doubt.

WOW! you replyed to my topic. you are like a god to me. thats an awesome truck i've been following it since the start. thanks for the information. but when im welding two pipes together at a 90 or 45 degree angle how do you cut the c-shape in that one pipe? do you get what i'm saying, so it will sit flush? can i use a grinder? I think i'm supposed to use a bandsaw. the same thing goes for welding the bushings on also...
