Hope you not planning on welding the super pivot to the top of your axle, like he did.

For the ends where the met the bushing I used a tube notcher and a 2" holesaw. For the end that met at the 35 dgeree angle or whatever it is, I cut it with a bandsaw and used a grinder to make it fit right. There was a little gap on the top, but the metal was thick enough to just run a hot bead down it. I made a jig for assembling the wishbone as well.

Thats a good point, kinda sketch welding to a cast center section. You can offset the link to the side on the axle tube, or build tubular supports from the side and back to hold the super pivot. Like this:

everything made from 2x2x.25 from a differential bracket to the gastank x-member.

yea i might do that thing about making a bridge to span the cast section. but i was thinking that ill get one of those differential brackets that use the top 5 bolts. i found someone that made them for FSC the other day. i dont want to offset the mount because i want to hit sides a little.

Is that what "ebman" was talking about? the middle of the axel being cast? or was he talking about a super pivot may let the axel move more than it should.. i dont know.....

if you are building a summer home,do you build it half ass or not as strong just because your not using it all the time?
i think not.
doesn't matter if your truck is a daily or not. build it right or not at all.

it works great like that. it's the way we do it for our customers that wanna retain the stock gas tank. we've been doin' it on mini's and full sizes for years. oh, and by the way..... you can weld to your diff housing just fine.

i think its cast iron. thats what my stock i-beams off my old ranger were. but no matter what kind of metal it is its still cast so im gonna buy one of these:

make sure you get longer bolts, i've seen those type of brackets brake bolts before.
