Well, call me a pussy, but I belive in being safe, rather than sorry.

Tires aren't universal. Theres a reason they make 22" tires and 22.5" tires.

Sure, you may get a way with it for a while. Hell, you may get away with it for a couple of years, but I don't want to be the poor bastard who finds out the hard way why it was a bad idea.

Were not talking about engines here. You blow up an engine, fine, whatever, no big deal. Call a tow truck and have it fixed. You have a tire failure doing 70+ down the highway, pulling a trailer, and you could have your hands full real quick. Thats the kind of stuff that gets people killed.

Just seems like an awful lot of risk, just to save a couple of bucks.

I think steels are way way way way too heavy to run anyway, so you won't find me running them regardless. And not milling a 22.5 only saves you what? 480 bucks? what's 480 bucks when you are spending 3500+...

I still don't understand why we have to go through all of this anyway. Why aren't there normal 20s and 22s for us to buy? 20" tires are a dime a dozen, and cheap. I know the demand isn't huge, but it is stll there....

You would think some wheel manu would see every dually at SEMA sporting semis and that a light bulb would go off in their head...

amen. Campy for president! That's like someone going out to the middle of a big open field during a bad storm with a 25ft. steel pole to see if lighting would "really" hit him just because he's always heard it would happen, but has never seen it for himself...... go to Lowe's or Home Depot dude, buy a gallon of some sort of acid, mineral spirits or something and take a couple of drinks of that, there's a warning label on that too that says NOT to swallow the shit, but what do they know? Go prove them wrong! They say crack kills.... but people still do it. Some live, some don't. Followin' what we mean here? A motor blowin' up is one thing, and a tire is another. Engine blows up, pull off the call a tow truck and then Pig Rig to keep you company. Tire blows up goin' down the highway, you might end up like Clyde and his towin' Blazerado a few weeks ago....

19s are practically worthless. why not a 20? Can you even get a 19" tire in a 30-31" diameter? I'm just not a fan of tiny tires, no matter how low you go.

Guess this is just the way the market is right now... it'll change eventually, I am sure.

People have been struck by lightning, nothing to prove there. You can't even inhale fumes from muratic, common sense tells you that it will sure hurt to drink it. Crack, all by itself doesn't kill. The addiction to it does. People have obvioulsy mounted a 22" tire onto a 22.5" wheel, but we still haven't seen a failure, have we?

Do you think that the first tire those guys tried to mount blew up with explosive force, but they said "f*ck it, let's get the rest mounted" ???

Also, you make it sound like no one has ever survived a blow out...

And that fella(blazerado) got a wheel off the road over corrected and rolled...

Again, not about to run out and do this for all of the reasons I already posted. I just want to see the cold hard facts, tire dimenstions, bead shapes, wheel dimensions, etc etc etc... Again, not because I am gonna run out and do it, but just because it is interesting to me.

And losing a motor can easily be as deadly as any blow out... Fire, for one, oil getting under the tires for two... the list goes on and on...
