I've been looking for long range adjustable balljoints andI remember seeing some awhile back and I can't find the site, and was wondering if the Uni-Balls would work if I ran a nice big grade-8 bolt through the joint down into the spindle? But when I thought about this, I thought about the friction, possibly being between the spindle and the Uni-Ball. Or does anybody know of a good adjustable long throw balljoint?

My high-tech diagram.

if i remember correctly that is what aaron iahs (sp) used on mike alexanders toyota spindles. there should be in my mind no problem with this.

what i would suggest though is boring out the spindle to fit the straight bolt or make a tapered sleave to fit in the ball joint hole and straight on the inside of the sleeve for the bolt to sit in.

Yeah those would work good Scott but like I said I'm wanting to get adjustable balljoints instead of having the control arm mounts being adjustable or have to shim them. Thanks.

Another diagram for clarification...

Thanks dude ^

I checked Mike Alexander's Toyota and I'm pretty sure they tapped into his spindle and threaded the bolt straight through the balljoint into it.

I just built a long travel tacoma and that is exactly what I did. I had the spindle drilled a little shy of the bolt size and heated it for a press fit. Probably overkill though. Your diagram will work fine. Oh and the taco has 12" of travel.

twisted.....that is another good idea didn't think of that...hope i could help....post pics and let me know how it works out....

you can get 12" of travel with the s10 balljoint....... they have about the same amount of travel as a uniball with misalignment spacers...
