wet sand the lights with 1000grit, spray a black candy on it, number of coats depends on the shade u want, then put 2-3 coats of clear on them, thats how all my lights are odne on my dually...look like factory

can you do it in pretty much any color you want as long as you use auto paint? Like one of my cars is white. Could I use the white, spray it in clear and it still show up when I hit the lights? how thick should I spray it? One coat? 2?

I used the Testors trans. candy apple red from the hobby shop, just sanded the inside of the lights and sprayed light coats,I think I ended up with 3 light coats, turned out wicked. The number on the can was 1605.

ive used the testors on my pup too. looks bitchin. i think these dudes are talkin about smoking them black.

as far as white goes...i dunno. youd want to use a candy. that way it tints, but is still translucent. not sure if theres a white candy

You can do them the same colour as the car....at least a very close colour...as for white, get the paint mixed up in a very small quanitity, like touch up bottle in basecoat.(OH i use PPG)

Then mix the base in with DBC 500 mixing clear, you want it to be semi transparent, not a true kandy paint but transparent.

then spray it on in light coats, with the air pressure on the gun set hgih to really attomize the paint. Don't go for full coverage, as you will lose the lights. When it is tinted to the shade you want clear it with a good automotive clear, 2 or 3 coats is plenty. Oh and I assume everyone knows to sand with 800 or 1000 and preclean everything.

here is a set I kandied with PPG kandies.

I tried smoking my taillights but they wouldnt stay lit.

I used the Testors Window Tint, you get it at hobby stores. LIGHT, THIN COATS! Heavy coats darken them too much, just two light coats is enough.
