I smoke a lot of tail lights. Normally I am painting a car when I do it so after the last coat of clear I take what clear is left and add a bit of black paint. Mix it up and check the shade of it on the paint stick. It will make like a black candy. Works really well. Ends up smooth and shinny.P.S. I also sand the lights with 1000 grit befor I spray them to make it stick well.
