drop base dual side element b&m air cleaner works good for carb'd bodydropped trucks

^^ain't that one the really expensive setup?

On my s10 I used a drop base round one with a shorter filter. I kinda mix and matched parts from several filter kits at pepboys and put together the lowest profile setup I could get. I think the base was an actual gm performance brand one.

I say cut a hole in the hood and get one of them double shotgun ones from speedway.$$

Yep, me too. Years ago I had to get one of those Mr. Gasket 10" dia. chrome air filter kits for my S10, I had to cut the bottom out of my factory breather and mount it to the bottom of the new chrome one because my carb had a rectangular opening and the new breather was round, but I also had to cut the paper filter down.... and that was just to clear my cowl hood, but I say, Piss on a hood, they're over rated, just put a bigger motor in it....
