Do a reverse 2 link, you can make it plenty long. Lol.

I have seen this done.....looked nice .

I LOVE MY 2-LINK. SAY IT TILL THE DAY I DIE. rides like a dream no vibration, dragging body or at full lift. I do 4-links for all my friends rides. but i lovvvvve my 2 link. or as i like to call it, THE LAZY LINK, OR THE NEANDERTHAL LINK. never got stuck in a driveway either, more side to side than i want toooo. but this is on a fullsize

on a fullsize you can make the links really long (less pinion angle change), and mount the front of the link about the middle of travel (less fore aft movement) because it mounts on the outside of the frame, and use huge front bushings (better articulation) because the perches dont drag the ground. Or basically everything you cant do with a mazda. I agree its hard to see the limitations on a truck that minimizes them so much but minis are a different story. How many S10's have you seen with the rear wheel not centered in the rear arch? Thats two links.

i ran a 2 link on my s10 for 35k miles. The bars were 27" bushing eye to centering pin. Rode like a caddy and, wheels never hopped off the ground and didn't get stuck articulating into steep driveways (like the one at my house)

I also ran monoleaf for about 30k miles and didn't have any problems with it either.

Now I have a reverse lever 4 link and I'm just as happy with it.

sure these all may be the bottom of the barrel means to hold that axle under the truck, but fuck it. When you put 65 hp to the ground and drag the shit out of your frame, why not run a $50 link setup also. If a peterbuilt can pull 80,000 lbs. with a 2 link and some sleeve bags I think they'll do just fine on a 2400 lb. mazda.

peterbuilts dont use 2 links in the sense that minitruckers do, they use I beam links which can twist. A peterbuilt doesnt utilize 5-12 inches of lift drop either.

Mazdas dont have the ability to run 27 inch two links unless you move the gas tank, its more like 15 inches. They also mount lower in the front than an S10.

You want to see a two link on a mazda? look in my profile. My 150 dollar project truck had one. It ruined the driveshaft and carrier bearing, and the output seal of the trans, and only had small firestones mounted over the axle. I wasnt able to "drag the shit out of my frame", it drug the front of the bars on the ground when laid out. It was craptacular.

Any effort to change the way it mounted would have made it necessary to move the gas tank, in which case a 3 or 4 link would be a better option.

Its that old "it worked for me" advice again. Apples to oranges.

just go with a 4 link......youll spend more cash in repairs if you dont. i think a new rear end is like 200 at a boneyard. and while yer at it....just throw in a yota rear end. and get some front redrills. you gotta look at how serious you are about your this hobby. dont halfass anything. would you want yer g/f to only let you grab one tit? hell no....you wanna squeeze both of em! so go for it....save for that 4 link and listen to the gurus.

well I am going to be "THAT GUY" that know one cares about hearing from that has had no problems, My 91 xcab mazda has had the same 2 link for 10 years and has gone from seattle to arizona twice on it, tons of miles have been put on it, I have never been stuck in a driveway, and my driveline has never fallen out, or busted the tranny seal, my bar is 25" from the center of the bolt in the stock mount to the center of the axle so I am not sure where the 15" measurement came from, my bag is mounted to the bar and gets 12" of lift I drive with it about 6-8" up most of the time but also drive alot with it just off the ground, I dont think there is anything wrong with people talking about their success stories with a 2link, I have a tci 4 link on my regular cab mazda and I love that set up, and it may be the ideal way to go, but as far as my experience as gone with a 2 link set up on a mazda its been great, its kinda the same thing as the reverse 4 link thing, alot of people dont like it and would never run it, doesnt mean it cant be done and work, I am sure the next 30 post will be about how 2 links suck and someone will tell a story about the driveline slamming into the tranny forcing it through the cab and killing all inside, but I am gonna stick with it, some guys choose to drag their trucks at 70mph on the freeway and catch them on fire, I choose to go one step further and really live on the edge with a 2 link

as if there wernt enuff 2 link 4 link hate forums...ok i have had both 2 an 4...ive had over the axle and leverage....ya the 2 links have there down sides..but they work...i know 100 guys running a two link every day...ive driven one every day for a year an never had a problem.....also you might want to think of where you live ..if your in a state thats flat like okl...or indiana...or if ya live in col.....and to answer your question . i belive 32 inches from mount to axle is the least you should make it to keep the rotation to a min.....
