ok im not trying to start shit or anything anything is possible withthe right kind of money. But 600+hp outta a stock block is a ticking time bomb goto any of the mustang websites such as turbomustangs.com or theh corral.net and the consencus is between 450 to 500 is the limit on a stock 302 block. And if you hitting it with spray its gonna def shorten the lifespan. If your running a .512 lift cam which is pretty much useless on the street due to all the vacuum assisted things such as brakes that idle is gonna be so rough that your going to need a vacuum canaster to get them to werk so plan on mounting that somewhere. The heads are goona need way more than a port and polish to support that cam too . MY cam in my 306 (302 bored +.30) has a .498 liftand i had to change my whole valvetrain to trick flow. Your carb os going to have to be pretty nasty to. And i have neveer heard of a SHO mustng i have heard orf a SHO Tuarus though. In closing not trying to start shit just giving my thought. Peace

yes we have been thinkin about this and we cant decide on wether or not to chance it but if we do there will be a brace installed in the valley of the motor i dont remeber the correct name for it, but its to keep the front of the block attahed. 302's have a bad problem of around 600 horses they crack in the front portion of the block. this helps make sure nothing gets extermly damaged when this happens. We are wanting to by a short block though instead of the stock block, the short block will have the forged lower end in it which will save us some time, the new block should be able to handle the enormous power we want to throw at it. thank you for the input though and please give us more as it would be appreciated.

P.S. in case your confused im sonomasls's friend and im helping with the build.

hey man no problem. The product that your talking about is a brace that i put in the lifter vallly of the block that is where must cracks originate(actually its from one of the holes that holds the "spider" in, look at the block you'll figure out what I mean). I have seen that thing installed on HorsepowerTV. The only thing, is to install it you have to drill more holes in the block.

thanks for the support guys.

we hacked the firewall up. but looks like we might keep stock hood still.

remember, this is just for mock up, the motor/frame have yet to be finished. just needing to know what general cutting i need to do before i get into it to much.
