the dodges were a little different, they have a "sump" area in the pump itself which is a pseudo baffle but serves to prevent the studder from lack of fuel on sharp turns. thats why the stock tank has no baffles.

Yeap I think its a smart idea to anodize it or coat the tank in some way!

How would i o about that, what would i need to do, or who would i bring it to for something like that?

Some places that do powdercoating do anodizing also. Just look in your phone book probably under coatings maybe...???

this helps out alot i was haveing the same problem but 1 question on this comment

Get that and then cut a hole for your fuel pump.Pull some of the foam out, and get some 1/4" aluminum and sandwhich your pump onto the fuel cell like Joe did. After that you'll need to extend your wires and fuel line. You'll be able to retain your factory gas gauge and everything!

how do u bolt it to the fuel cell just weld studs in or drill into the cell ???

The dakota stock sending unit is threaded... but I guess if you pull that off you could do it like that.

Or if you want to do it the right way... Make a threaded piece of aluminum and weld it to your cell.

Drill into your plate that holds the top of the fuel pump plate and get some shot bolts.

i'd like to have had a threaded adapter Adam, but i didn't want to put the top of my gas tank off because i sold the old tank to someone.
