I use JL's 6" subs. I have 2 of them. Sound good.

It's not an 8" but I have an re xxx15. Quality and reviews on RE seem great, and I love mine so I would say check into those.

i have two JL 6" subs and they hit harder than everything i've tried. i've had 1 10" JL and 1 12" flat pioneer and the two JL 6" hit harder and sound better than anything i've ever had. they are in my daily driver, a reg cab 92 toyota with the bench seat. i've got them in a ported box i built with .4 cf with a rockford punch 160 pushing them. they are more impressive than you'd ever imagine. but if you've got the room an 8" would just be that much louder. i love JL. their quality and price is better than most everything else on the market. and all you stupid tards, dont start hating, sure they are better subs, but not for the price. my JL 6" subs were $55 brand new and hit harder than a pioneer 12" sure rockford and mtx and everybody else makes decent stuff, but sound quality and price, JL has em all beat

oh by the way, my box is 1" wide at the top and 4 3/4" wide at the bottom. it follows the lean of the seat, and my bench seat IS all the way back. the 6" subs have a super shallow depth and are very affordable and slam their asses off. mine is ported and hits like hell and fits behind the seat with the seat all the way back. most folks are dumbfounded when i let them listen and then pull up the back seat to see them. they cant believe that those lil bitty subs crank out that much sound.

The jl flat subs look awesome, and I am sure the preformance will be there.

However, If you can't wait, or decide they will not work because of required airspace or something, I would highly reccomend the jl 6wo 6" woofers.

My friend had one in his crx, in a box that sat inside his spare, and with 100 watts it sounded very nice. It added a solid kick and filled out the lower octaves of most music very nicely. Completely concealed, but the speaker looked nice enough that you could mount it in a console exposed and it not look bad at all.

I have not heard the ED 6.5" subs, but they look solid as well.

Might also look into a company called Tang Band. Their speakers are sold on www.partsexpress.com ,and people seem to think favorably of them. I know they have a 6.5" 5.25" and 6x9" woofer listed on parts express.

I do have time really. I'm looking at future options. I'll definitely check out the JL subs. I'd love to keep them behind my seats, rather than making a center console with them in it.

jl w3 8s sound real good

Yeah I'd rather run 8s than 6s, but I just want them behind the seats, without my having to sit up, or sit forward. Because I hardly fit in my truck with the seat all the way back, hunching down a little bit.

first off man, your truck is sick! i love the frame work. second, i didn't really look through this whole subject but look into earthquakes shallow subs. i think the total height of the 10" is like 3". pioneer makes shallow subs too but they have screwed me in the past. i have heard the earthquakes and they sound damn good. they make an 8", 10", and 12" all shallow subs. look into it, i plan on running 2 10" in my 89 b2200 reg cab.

Thanks man!

I've been looking at the low profile Earthquakes. I just don't want to spend $250 on one sub... I'd like to put on 8 behind each seat.
