I'm sitting in the Cab of my 75 foot long big rig as I reply here.

I have to ask, if you dont plan to drive trucks why get it.

FYI. You can get a Class in in your dually with a 5th wheel trailer.
But you'll be restricted & wont have an Air Brake indorsment.

I personally have all the endorsments except forthe Haz-mat.
Thats a big book in its self to study.

yea if you don't need it I sure wouldn't get one. You get screwed alot because you hold a CDL.. besides the .04bs I know many states are giving no supervision on tickets. I got a speeder in my dually over in IN and no matter what it was going on my record because I have a CDL, and had to pay a fine. The lawyer got it down to 1mile over, but what bs discrimination is that. If I didn't have a CDL I coulda paid a fine and got supervison.

and HAZMAT is over rated badly.. any driving job that requires you have that doesn't pay substantially more to go through the hassle of the test or the hazards of the load you'll be pullin.

I'm assuming your supervision is like our Traffic School out here in California.

if you get a ticket you can simply go to traffic school & pay a fine & its kept off your record.

Keeping it clean ( keeping your insurance lower ).
But not if you have a CDL!

I would figure it should be the other way around, because you drive for a living they should allow you to keep your record clean.
But I suppose they see it because your a proffesional driver your held up to a high level of responsibility.

Nope our supervision is just that.. pay a small fine and you're on supervision for 3 months and if you don't get another ticket in those 3 months it's gone. If you get another ticket and are found guilty both then become convictions.

For our traffic school you're allowed to do it twice in a 12month period. The 1st is a 4 hour class and the 2nd is an 8 hour class.

Oh and 3 movers in a 12month period and your license is suspended for 3months.

And they should give us a break considering a trucker drives more miles in a couple years than most drive in a lifetime. And a bs ticket(like my 61 in a 60) brings one that much closer to being in the welfare line.

hey look at it this way though you have real crime in chicago and all the cops aren't on traffic duty with nothing to do but pull people over like here

screw it I'm going for my pilot license only cause the FFA doesn't know me yet

yea thats true.. city cops could give a shit. It's the suburbs and state that dont mess around

I know it sucks that because we hold a cdl that we are being treated differently. When ever there is an accident involving a turck, the blame is put on the truck driver regardless until it can be proven different.

Sucks that they are harder on you when you log 100,000 safe miles a year than the rest of the population that drives reckless everyday.
