Epoxy primer

that is what we do at the bodyshop i work at..but if you do use epoxy ive always heard the only kind worth buying is ppg dp

dupont makes a dtm, which is a direct to metal primer, u can do metalwork right over the top of it, they have it in different colors, i always used black, as it was easier to see the lil dings and dents with it...

and dont, i repeat, DO NOT use an acid etch prime over bare metal, body filler will not stick to it, you will have to primer over the etch prime, and then do bodywork....

metal will rust under bondo or if you shave something and bondo over bare metal it will rust even if you corrosion protect the back side for there is pin holes in the metal work.sorry . epoxy, scuff, bondo ,prime ,thats it . happy sanding oh and sherwian williams is house paint !!! keep it on the house!!!!
