i always thought that you had to have bare metal to powdercoat or else the powder wouldnt stick to it. so if you smooth out the welds with plastic filler it wouldnt work. plus it has to be baked at 350 or something like that it would probably flake or chip off. i'm not that familiar with powdercoating though.

aside from the couple of flaws, the color looks great!

that color looks great, frame is coming along very nice, love the work man

i didnt say anything about plastic filler, what you use for powdercoat is a metal based filler that is safe for powdercoat temps and sandblasting. He was supposed to smooth out any flaw that he thought would be visable in the final finish.

lol

besides the flaws you didnt need to point out....that green and chrome looks fuckin awesome!

Holy crap that is hot with all the chrome bolted up. I would be so excited about that color and seeing it all together that I would forget about the small things that went wrong> I bet when it's all said and done.... they will be forgotten and you will instead worry about somthing needing to be modified or fixed on the frame causing you to have to weld on it. There's a late model chevy around here with one of those old "body-droppless frames" all painted, looks clean, but a shock mount snapped off in the back, he has no bed floor and had to weld a new one one. Your eyes go right to it now.

ok, i didnt know a metal to metal filler would work since it uses aluminum in it, i figured that wouldnt work either. i still think it looks badass, and at the end of the day its a frame, if your painjob turned out bad............that's a different story.

it's not something that he could fix and do a spot in type repair on it? is it possible to powdercoat on top of powdercoat without having adhesion problems?

probably more like spotting problems, spot repair on Candy or pearl paintjobs is hard enough, I bet powdercoat jobs is impossible.

Nice build.. seems to be coming together.. when you say the chrome was twice as much as you thought, did you pay more than 5 grand? I sent all my stuff to Advanced Plating but I still need a few more things done... my bill was getting too high so I need a few more things done else where.. is that place in MI super high on prices? Thanks

lol, come on man, does that look like 5k worth of chrome work? lol, its a few link bars and some control arms lol.....even advance chrome only quoted me 1400$ to do all of it.

Its not that the place in michigan is high priced.....your misreading the point.....its that they are liars, they bait you in with one price, then spring another price on you when its time to pick it all up. They are by no means super expensive.....i was able to get all that done for under 800$, but just like this case with the powdercoat......when you expect one thing, and recieve another, its shitty.
