right....its not illegal to roll the odometer FORWARD which is what you are doing...

I just meant to roll it over basically. I wouldn't actually roll it back all through the mileage.

I was wrong about what it read though, I looked at it yesterday. It says 88444.4

Whats your point in wanting to roll the odo over? Doing it just for yourself or do you want to have it registered with a lower mileage. In states that have annual inspections, they record the current mileage and that is sent to dmv. If dmv notices that mileage is going down instead of up, that will throw up a red flag. Best thing to do to stay on the semi-legal side of things is keep track of what the last recorded mileage is (can find that by running a carfax report), if you have state inpections, just tell them there is 202xxx miles and increase it a few miles each year. That will keep any odometer discrepencies off of a clean title.

I got a destroked 3.5 horse with a big bored and a port job that would work perfect.

Terrence, its strictly for my own personal amusment. We don't have inspections here. And apparently a vehicle with 5 slots for the mileage doesnt matter once its roller over once because theres no telling how many times its been done. So I just want to put mine at zero for when I start it the first time, since it hasn't been driven since everything was rebuilt.

there is no reason why you shouldnt do it. it would feel good to start it up for the first time with the odo reading 00000, and watching it on the first drive.
