I got my Axle shortened at Moser, It's an 8.8 out of an explorer. They narrowed the housing, they cut and resplined the stock axles. $180 out the door. You'll just have to rebuild it yourself. There's also a place here in michigan that will do it, they're called DTS (Drive Train Specialists ) But I know they charge about $900 to do everything thats with new axles from moser. I actually think DTS just ships the axles down to moser and let's them do all the work. I personally dropped my axle off at moser and picked it up. They do AWESOME work and quick ( 1 week turnaround or you can drop it off in the am when they open and pick it up same day ( 8 hours later, if you schedual an appoiment). Sorry for the Novel response.
