My Dad has an 05/06 Crew Cab. We made a box (mdf and fiberglass) that sits kind of like a rear center console. He lost use of the middle of the rear seat. It's not the loudest setup in the world, but it sounds pretty good.

You could remove the front center console, and probably fit a few 12's or maybe a pair of 15's in it...

i forgot...

we just did an o6

made a center console that had 4 12s in it... i think either rf p2's or alpine R's

I took out the center front seats with 2 10's in a folded horn box it hit pretty good for some cheep RF 10's I want something different though do you have any pics of the flat pioneer setup you did?

i am selling my console and the subs too...800 for it all... it hits 143.4 with a botson gt28 which is a true 1200 watts.. but jl audio make box to go behind the rear seat for 2 10w1v2 and a 500 watt jl amp would sound good...i werk at a stereo shop and if u have any questions jus holla at me

You might have to start looking into some more exotic box designs, like a solobaric design, push/pull, stacked, etc.

not to be a stickler, but push pull and stacked are both isobaric designs, and solobaric is a speaker from Kicker. And neither one of the isobaric designs increases output, only increases the number of subs, increases the system Q, and halves the box airspace requirement. Which is moot because you would need two subs either facing or in line, requiring twice the box depth. Either way you are still only listening to one cone, so in theory your system is half as efficient.

A long time ago they made a isobaric design that was push pull, but instead of the woofers facing each other they were mounted next to each other and the cones were coupled by a small plexiglass chamber. It was made to fit in trucks, but people quit buying when they realized that, while the system had incredible detail and extention, it was only as loud as one sub.

Sorry for the distraction, didnt mean to single out your ideas, but they are not really a solution.

If you want super ghetto, inmate ass pounding, gorilla trying to escape the cab loud, do a blow through. You can make the box unbolt and slide back, I did it a lot back when I was an installer. 4 tens in the right box would blow you out of the truck.

Sorry. I meant isobaric. I actually had one of those boxes. Can't remember who made it.

Just throwing out ideas since I know how hard it is to try and get subs/bass into a club cab without giving up usable space. Luckily, with the music I listen too, I'm more concerned about tight bass vs. low bass. I used to run two 8's in my car and it was one of the tightest sounding setups I've had. Most likely this time I'll just get the MTX Thunderform that they offer for 2nd gen Frontier.

Rockford has new woofers that are shallow depth. check out rockfordfosgate.com for the mounting depths.

If you want, you can wait for JL to come out with their shallow mount sub in a month or two. They're sayin the mounting depth is 2.5 inches and it comes in either a 12 or a 13.5.

Here's the link to the sub. http://mobile.jlaudio.com/jlaudio_pages.php?page_id=213
