Could be an air bubble in the system. Is the water pump working? That could do it. Or as you said, the thermostat not opening, you could try one that opens sooner

Hey Shannon thanks for the help. It did have a big air pocket. I flushed the system again and put in fresh coolant after the last run/flush the new coolant looked kind of dirty. Once I started it it ran for about 30 seconds and showed to be 180 degrees. Good part is coolant was flowing and all air bubbles are out. I replaced the temp sensor and let it sit for a day, same thing. Start it and within 30 seconds it showed 180+.My mechanic buddy going to come over and look at it see what I am missing. Will keep you updated on the progress as I want it 100% in case I want to cruise it at a show As far as Reso I plan on coming might need a copilot for the trip and have to save up money so I can enjoy the weekend. The entry fee for a tow pig and 2 vehicles on the gooseneck add up. Plus I like my Bud Light Thanks again everyone for your help hope to have a video of it running and cruising in the next few weeks.

And you drink shitty beer as well Jon. Try something with a color that resembles maple syrup not urine.

I hope to see the truck at Reso this year!

Drain the system again and refill it slowly and that should do it...
