seth it seriously sounds like a tiny vacuum leak. ignore how much fuel is going in there now focus on the true problem of running. dont ever use sealant around a carb. even seal which is a gas and oil resistant sealant. all others break down but even seal all is not good. all you should need is a good hand cut cork gasket for a base gasket. i worked at a machine for a few years rebuilding motors and such and we never used any sealant on any motors and no leaks. it is all in prep. i am not a fan of paper gaskets for carbs though i cut cork ones. as for testing a vacuum leak use a propane torch (thanks russ-d). it works much better than a carb cleaner or starter fluid. if i can help hit me up once you get it back. 704-267-3949 cookie

Well I cant really test it now. Its in their hands. We'll see what happens.

first thing i would check is the vacuum, but if you're sure all that's right, then it really sounds like your vacuum advance isn't working. if they don't fix it for you, then that's where i'd start. then if that's not it then it could be your idle mixture settings.
p.s. like robert said, everything you adjust, you'll have to adjust the timing accordingly. i think auto zone even has cheap lights for 50-60 bucks, but i'd suggest spending about 150 & get one with the rpm indicator on it or hook up a cheap $10 external tach for temp adjustments.
good luck.
