what amperage is the machine? the 135 amp 110 machines will weld anything on your truck you need, just turn the wire down and go slow.... and flux core is fine if you have to use it, but if you can get some solid wire and a 75/25 gas mix it will save you alot of cleanup time.... minus all the spatter, i can run a bead with flux almost as nice as i can with gas and solid wire.....

I've welded with a 175 and with my 210 and I wouldn't say there the same machine just packaged different. I didn't like welding with the 175 at all. I had alot of problems with it. My 210 does all the work for you. It's hard to have a bad weld with that machine.

the 110 should be fine. If you have too you can always gring a valley in the pieces for the weld to lay in, and also making several beads will help too. also watch how long you weld because the duty cycle on them are low when welding thick stuff. dont wont to burn up a new welder.
good luck

I've welded with a nice Millermatic 220 and my Lincoln Sp135T. That Millermatic tore sh*t up! I loved it. My Lincoln does the job, but like BIG said, it did the work for me. Welds are perfect with that thing and you almost never seem to require it's full potential!
