I got a question about running an h-link. If i run it like a lower case "h", with the open side on a 2x4 crossmember and the longer side running up to the axle will it eliminate the need for a triangle or panhard?

Well i seen people hear n there do that but id try and get atleast ablil bit of angle outta the bars. If you have the time or spare metal build it but tact weld everything and the give the axle a good push from one side adn see how much it moves. im running a "H" lower bar on my blazer cuz the bags are mounted offest on the link bars and the joining bar keeps them from twisting.

i think he means a wihbone three link....something like what seth has. if so, its perfectly fine.

If you mean a wishbone like my setup it will work just fine.

No not a wishbone,i was going to build a wishbone but i saw this h-link set up that i thought was pretty cool. It basically is 2 lower case h's, one regular ways and the other is reflected onto the passenger side.

I would like to pics of what you are talking about. What you are describing dosen't sound right.

I don't care how you get from point A to point B, the only thing that the points know is that they are connected. So anything that is not a straight bar, between them, just becomes a compromise or a weak point. That is why we have A-arms and not L-arms or T-arms. The triangulation of an "A" shape is the strongest letter in the alphabet as well as the strongest shape that we have. An "h" is not going to offer any advantages, especially if their are 2 of them. I think that they would just fight each other.

So.. two mounting poitns on the crossmember and one on the axle?

I don't see anything structurally wrong with the h design. It has an A in it. The problem is that i believe you would still need something with those bars to prevent rotation of the axel and all longitudinal movement.

I believe the design he was talking about has 2 lower bars as well..
