6.5 diesel??

it's a very reliable engine, has decent power, and a stout transmission with either the 6 speed or the 4l80e. Why the fuck would you even worry about how fast a damn dually is anyways, it's not a racecar, it's built to be able to pull your house off the foundation, not set the land speed record.

the 396 GM turbodiesel is a converted gasoline BBC, 195 BHP, 465 ft. lb. of torque. The military H1 and civilian H1 hummers have this engine. You wouldn't see it in Iraq if it wasn't a tough engine.

kool.. you have any idea how much the tbi 454s came with how many hp and torque.just so i can comepare and also is the diesel 6.5 better for towing

not sure, but I do know that pulling a trailer with the diesel is alot cheaper than with the gas 454.

try about 12 mpg. towing diesel vs. about 6-7 with the 454.

Just drop a duramax in it, in the long run it will be cheaper than trying to build up a 6.5L. It would be hard and expensive to get the 6.5 up to where the duramax is. The 6.5 by today's standards, sucks. To do the duramax swap you will need the wiring harness, computer, etc.

why do we see those engines in Iraq? because they were the lowest bidder...

i guess ima stick to gas.. one fast question is the newer 454 fuel injected better on gas the the tbi model and whats the defrence in power?

well basicly what i really whant to know is if the 454 will tow better than the 6.5 im looking for power wie dont care about mpg
