I have a 97 tacoma bagged, body dropped on 20s. I bought a set of upper c-arms from cando and I can layout and get plenty of lift, but the problem I am having is the amount of toe-in/out the wheels have. when the truck is up the wheels toe out BAD....when the truck is down the wheels toe-in REALLY BAD............does anyone know why this is happening?

It has to do with the rack and pinion steering on those trucks.

The problem isn't the rack and pinion at all. From the factory, the Tacos had a small amount of bump steer, I'm not sure why, but they do. If you have flipped your balljoints in order to get the truck to lay, you have only made the problem worse. Then on top of that, the upper arms will make things just slightly worse. This has nothing to do with how Cando built the arms, there just isn't any way to correct the issues with an arm.

When I designed my dropped spindles, I also built modified lower balljoints to cure as much of the bump-steer issues as possible. They are VERY close to being perfect.

As much as this might sound like an advertisemant, its' not. My point is that there are definately problems with the Tacos and there is a simple cure that dosen't require any major cutting.

Hmmmm good to know Max. I always thought it was the steering, but i have only worked on a couple tacomas. Thanks for the info!

yeah yeah...well I have flipped ball joints..so what if I went ahead and got the lower arms from cando to get rid of the ball joint bracket crap and just spaced the spindle up how ever much its lacking from laying.from what I have heard this is just like a dropped spindle. this will also alow the steering arms to not have to travel as much, as the tierod/ball joint will not be as high as if it were still flipped.....does anyone know anything else? Not that I doubt max...

There are hundreds of Tacomas out there that are bagged not using my spindles. So it can certainly be done. I built my spindles to take all of the guess work out of it. Bold my spindles on with my modified lower ball-joints, bag it and your good. I don't have any clue what else to suggest for you to try. I can tell you tho that simply puting spacers under your spindles is not the same as my dropped spindles.

thanks for the help max. I know that getting your spindles will make it easier but I think i would like to take on the challenge of the guess work. It will all be a challenge really cuz I dont have access to many tools(just the basics). I plan to hit it hard in the next couple of weeks and will post some pics of it all. thanks again dude
