40s or 50s?

so what would sound better on a 350? 40 series or 50 series flowmasters with turned down tips

I have to reccomend a magnaflow. It has a good sound and doesn't seem to drone as much as a flowmaster. Just my opinion though. As far as the flowmasters go it depends on how loud you like it. I run a 40 series on my 4.3. The only reason I am running that instead of a magnaflow is because the exhaust shop had a used one that was practically brand new. They had taken off a guys truck because he didn't like it and sold it to me installed for 50 bucks.

ya i got a 40 series on my 4.3. sounds good to me. i've heard good things about magnaflow though. buy on price. lol.

Eventhough, I don't have a muffler at all on my truck right now...LOL

ive got 40s on my truck, its pretty loud, sounds good as hell though. my bro has the same on his 99 and it sounds pretty good, not too loud. i think a lot of it depends on what else you have done to the exhaust and where they are turned down, etc.

I have a dually w/ a 454 in it running straight exhaust.....If I put a 40 series or magnaflow on it will it make it quieter? To me it doesnt seem that loud for running no muffler, and wondered if a muffler might make it sound better....even though it seems like you not gonna get any louder than if you have no muffler at all...

if you go flowmaster go with the 40 series, you will like alot better. Its loud when you want it to be loud.

I went with 40's on my 5.7 and it was way better than any muffler I had on it. Sounds even better with the cats hollowed out.

i personally loathe the sound of a flowmaster on anything besides a mustang. (just FYI im totally not a ford guy, but mustangs with tru duals and flows sound so rad). i dig the sounds of a magnaflow. it doesnt rattle you out of your seat, and is pretty damned loud OUTSIDE of the vehicle, but you are able to have a convo inside and not yell.

however, if you are really wanting the flows, id run the 50 series. its a bigger shell, more to fill up and has more of low rumble. trust me, in no way will it be quiet tho.

i never heard the 50s so I'm gonna have to say the 40s. I am happy with mine
