ok, is there any way to get around narrowing the axle? maybe an axle swap for 5 lug or something? i'm wanting to use a narrow, simple old school style wheel. probaly a 7 or 7.5 inch wide max. so i really don't want to start cutting my axle and all that for maybe an inch if i don't have to. like mentioned, it's going to be a simple built, daily driven project. bags, bd to the pinch, small wheels, some minor body work/shaving, and paint.

and by the way, i think i'm gonna stick with the z. i do appreciate the advice, but even though it's extra effort, i'm gonna tear a little deeper than i originally planned over time. basically, i want it all flat when it's bd. so i think it'll be worth it.

Well you can measure the rear end out of an s-10 vs. the dakota but then u will have a diff. lug pattern on the fron so then ud have to re-drill your rotors. Then you will have to either get a custom drive shaft made or check with central florida driveshaft and c what they can do for yeah tell em what u got and they can do about anything. There out on combee rd. in lakeland.

but going through all that it may still be less headache to just narrow your rear end owenby's can prolly help you out with that there down there by the famous "club kathleen" lmao.

you know, this sounds dumb, but i've lived in the lakeland/plant city area for 22 years...and never heard of "club kathleen" lol but yo nate, hit me up. i need to get some info on where those places are so i can get some prices. i'd rather narrow it, i was hoping for something like an isuzu/toyota swap. how far should i narrow the rear end though? anyway, hit me up sometime bro. and how do you know jimmy? i work with him now in PC.

Owenby's 682-5146 it's right off of kathleen road in the ghetto area. Owenby's is a machine shop. central florida driveshaft is on combee road 666-3874 don't let the number scar ya lol. Nah ive helped here and there down at his shop i'm across from where he is at now doing my own sh*t.

oh sweet. yeah, i know where CFDS is. but never heard of (atleast i don't think) owenbys. i'm gonna be down at jimmy's this weekend maybe. depends on what else i got going on and free time and good shit like that.

anyone know how far to narrow the axle though, or do i need to stop being lazy and get the ruler out?

Depends on if your gonna run a custom offset which it doesn't sound like u are going to. If you already have the wheels the best thing to do is measure your offset and inner bedside. but ive heard of guys going 3" on each side.
