Does anybody have a daily driver bd to the doors? I have an 84 C-10 that im considering cuttin the rockers off of but Im worried that havin to be extra careful about opening the doors on uneven surfaces to keep from destroying my doors will become a bigger p.i.t.a. than its worth. Anybody got $.02 to chime in with?

I i had a doored truck there would be a piece of 1/4 inch plate on the rockers to keep the doors off the ground.

i wouldnt drive a doored truck daily.. but thats my opinion, if your are gonna have it as a daily then just lay some rockers and save the headache

My S-10 was to the doors and it was a pain and it wasnt even my daily. The worry of opening the doors and the pain of being so extra carefull wasnt worth it to me. Just my 2 cents....

I used to daily mine... Either your gona scrape the hell outa your doors... or you can get your windows on remote and crawl in and out.

Ha I like that window idea! So if i decided to go ahead and door it whats the best method of getting the rockers out of the way, cutting them off completely or rolling them underneath the cab?

Never driven my doored truck but sure looks sweet IMO.
Good luck on the build.

Doored and daily.

Do it. Yeah so your doors might drag when you open them big deal proves your actually DOORED, and if you cant open your door at all dont lay it out completely i can still lay mine out enough to get the door open and be lower than a rockered truck still

But i would plate it if you gonna drag cuz i ended up dragging through my door skins that was my only problem but that was my own fault.

Brace the cab real good, then get it up in the air enough to get around the rockers with a saw. Then cut the floor out and cut the rockers off.... Replace the rockers with a 4x4 or 5x5 by .25 piece of angle iron... whatever is large enought to make it all the way out to the edge of the door, then you will have a very strong rocker and a very strong piece of steel to start attaching your new floor too.'

PS this was a horible frame design in the end.. the pic is just to show where and how the angle iron is attached to the cab.

Thats sounds alright but is it possible to cut and brace the rockers and channel the cab floor instead of building a new one from scratch? I dont wanna lose head room to a trad. bd but would mind sacraficing a lil space for a channel.
