Make two triangle pieces like you have the one, and put one on each edge, then plate the top.

You can accomplish the same thing by angle-cutting a 2x? box tube, ya dig?!

well i usually try to do this on trucks i do:

that whole transition was done with plate steel... doesnt have to be rounded like that, just box it in so that there is a good height, on my fullsize i did it similair to this one, except there was the stock frame on the outside, then on the inside of the framerails, i plated the transition about 6" on the new clip and 6" on the old clip, and there is still enough flex to move my fender/door gap about a 1/16" when i support the frame on jackstands under the front bodymount....... just try to box it in, like take that gusset, move it to the outside of the frame, add another on the inside, then a plate on the top of it to box it in and make it strong there......

I'm not saying good or bad about this, but you didn't weld the joints, just plated them and welded them up that way? Like where the two bars meet with the gusset on them, i'ts not welded under the gusset?

Like I said, I am not master fabber, and have no proof that one way is better than the other, but why exactly didn't you weld it under gusset.......if you didnt?

i dont have anything negative to say, but i do have some criticism, you really need to fill in the transition from front clip to new frame, not only for strength, but for looks also, and the plating of all the joints isnt necessary and way overkill.....

I did not but weld the joints, that is why I did all the plating. What exactly would you suggest I do on the old-new tie in.

^^^^what go me turned around. anyways, good work so far it seems. gunna e real cool.
