damn dude, if this thread is making you this upset about peoples opinion, just delete and act like it never happened. But the topic did say "my new SITE".

I'm not upset in the least. I just find it interesting that the topic turned to the design of the site and not the renderings. The sites sole purpose is to show the rendering and not the "design of the site". Trust me brother I got the thickest skin around, I have been doing it to long not to.

All I really wanted to do was show the renderings so I guess that if no one has any bad to say about them then my goal was achieved.

I will just keep posting the rendings here

Since all this talk about websites, I thought I would toss my new site out.

Carter Hickman Designs

Check it out and let me know.

I like it...looks good...clean simple and shows people what you are selling without trying confuse them with a lot of unnecessary flash...and I completely agree with you, your not promoting websites so what does it matter...and even if you were it looks good. Who cares if it is a template too...people use templates all the time to show galleries. You got my thumbs up on it bro. -rj

looks good carter. but i would have to say that i woulda chose a better way to display your work. since it is so clean and all. the site resized renderings are very choppy and some blurry. doesnt show your work as good as it should. with that said, the site is clean for sure. keep in mind that flash sometimes can hurt you in search engines as well as people using slower running computers/connections. thanks again for the f100, its coming along nicely, ill show ya soon.

i thought the same thing as far as the 'choppyness' , but you can expand them and look clean. the site is simple, to the point...which is what you were goin for.

i like pretty much all of your stuff. i like the shop truck the best. i've seen all the others from here and other sites, so it's nothing too new that i havent seen already. except that tundra...i think it needs to be lower to look not so goofy. either way, looks good...keep it up.

i like iti need to learn how to code flash betterbut like doug said.. your personal website if your a graphic artist/web designer should be the best site youve ever created because if your trying to sell yourself as a designer you've got to come off as the best of the best

not hating on your flash skills cuz its dope but could be better

Sorry but i totally disagree with that don't think that your site should be the best one you ever did because that takes time and if you are that good you have so many cutomers that you don't have time to design a huge flash site with that said i still think it should be clean and let your portfolio do the talking as to how good you are that is what will sell your imageya and thats why were the professionals and you arent

and btw

your site is 75% of your portfolio

exactly what makes you a professional and not me because i stated my opinion in the fact that you don't need the most extreme bad ass site to show your work all you did is restate my point as to why someone wouldn't you spend so much time on a flash site when your portfolio is 75% of your business if your good and fast i say go for it but if you have ever built an extensive flash site you know how long it takes

i know exactly how long it takes and flash is cool but it gets annoying real fast and if youve ever tried to optomize a flash site for search engines you know what im talkin about lol
