All your tweeters didnt blow because all the caps are different, even identical ones. electrolytic capacitors (metal caps with "stuffing" inside) have a 15% tolerance. Thats pretty wide.

Its like a water tank, that you fill and empty thousands of times a second through the same valve. If the fill is longer than the empty, and it continues for several seconds (clipping) the tank will find a way to burst when it just cant take on any more water. All that high power low frequency energy that the cap is trying to absorb from getting to the tweeter, which is how a cap filters low frequencies out, eventually the cap saturates and cant absorb any more. They put relief impressions of the top of metal caps for this reason, to localize the explosion.

Maybe it was older, caps lose their ability to filter as they age. Maybe your amp has a problem only on one channel. Maybe your power level dropped enough during the song and the amp went into distortion. There are plenty of maybes. But I do know, of all the popped caps I ever saw, none ever popped playing piano music at 70db. All of them popped at super high volume, being overdirven. I've seen them popped in crossovers boxes, inside dashes, and yes behind speakers. That was when I worked as a high end installer for 10 years and before I got my electrical engineering degree. Happened more than once. More than 10 times. Probably more than 50.

So lighten up. I wasnt attacking you but its hard to think you arent just another keyboard commando, telling me "fuck you" on an internet website. If you lived close to me, you would have already been over to my place and we would have fixed it. I'm not trying to make anyone look stupid, but arguing on the internet is a sure way to do it yourself.
