And for the extra $10, you might as well get the stainless or billet mounts. Lol..

Swapping a 350 into a mazda really isnt hard it just can be costly if you want it to look nice . If you have any questions feel free send me an IM or post here

Thanks alot Seth those mounts are exactly what i have been looking for, perfect that you can mount the metal pieces wherever you need to.

Maz2low added you to msn, have lots of questions lol.

any more info on the subject would be great.

You will need :

New Radiator ( If your Bodydropped you will need an inline or thermostat mounted Rad Fill up)you can have the original radiator re-cored but to me in the end its alot more then an aluminum one

- An electric fan (atleast 2800 CFM)Recommend Black Magic but Zirco or Flex-a-lite could get you by

- If your bodydropped i would recommend lowering the motor to clear hood .

- A set of Headers . Any Block huggers will work . Heddman make some nice ones and can be had cheap on Ebay

- Fuel lines the originals are fine just rip out the tiny line . Leaving the Main line and Return . A stock Chevy mechanical fuel pump on block is fine aswell

- Driveshaft you could use your original if it is a Two-piece - I went with a solid 1 piece instead Cost was $180 All New . So probably around 100-130 to do your original

- If you want to use your original guages and sending units any hydraulic or hardware store will have the right fittings/reducers

- Wiring is a different story .

Keep posting what else you need

A 2.2 will "fit" in a 2.6's spot. Frames are indentical in these trucks with exception of the 4wd's. What you need is the entire motor and driveline of a 2.0/2.2. So get the motor and tranny. Not sure if driveshaft flanges match, but a driveshaft place can fit you the right flange as long as you bring it to them.

From there I'd just recommend running a Weber carb or Holley 5200 so you can ditch the computer and excess wires in the engine bay.

This is partly incorrect, there are 3 different frames made for 2wd mazdas (not including differing lengths like ext cab, short bed, long bed) The 2.2/2.0 frame is different than either of the 2.6 frames. You can change the motor mounts to put a 2.2 in a 2.6 spot, but it is a cut and weld procedure, not bolt in.

Reading further in the discussion, if you put in a carbed V8 you will need to take the high pressure pump/pickup out of the tank and switch to a carbed 2.2/2.0 fuel pickup.

I see alot of ppl putting there CD/MP3 Deck in theyre dash where theyre little storage spot was, i tried doing this myself but noticed it will not fit do to the air ducting for the AC/Heater any one have any adivce how to do this??

You have to trim the heater duct behind the pocket. I used to do stereo install and have done a few, people are right that it doesnt look as good unless you can get it all the way back in there, butit doesnt look terrible mounted so that it sticks out the depth of the trim ring either.

Its because the 17" caddy rims BARELY fit, in fact you have to flare the bedsides slighty to get them up under the fenders, but the 18" are wider with less offset, so they would hit front and rear unless you were running 4x4 sheetmetal. With a bodydrop, the 4x4 sheetmetal doesnt even help, because the tire will hit the bedside taper at the top of the flare.

hope this helps.

maz2low what do you mean the original fuel lines will work but ill have to rip out the "tiny line"???

my truck is an ext cab, so i have 2 driveshafts i plan on getting both strengthened or maybe replaced not to sure which will be cheaper. as far as clearing the hood goes i have the 2600i bubble hood so im not to sure if that will give me enough room.. if not a cowl hood will be on its way. the original guages i want to also reuse.. basically i wont have to touch the fuel gauge.. all i really want to use for sure is the speedo, tach im just going to buy an aftermarket one. as far as wiring goes i dont think there will be to much wiring??? chevy 350s are pretty simple wiring wise.. i think?? what wiring will i have to do to get the motor running??

Russ-D, few questions for you.. if i went to any parts store and asked for a 2.2l mazbda fuel pickup they should be able to get me one for cheap??

if you have to trim the heating duct to get the deck to fit in, doesnt that leave a fair size hole in the heating duct so when you turned it on it would be leaking out heat/ac right behind the deck?

my truck has been body dropped 3" and doesnt have the 4x4 sheetmetal so does this mean i will not be able to run the 18" caddys? the 17" ones dont really do much for me considering everyone is runnin them.

thanks.

you need the whole pickup/level sender from a carbed 2.2/2.0. I suppose you could just take the fuel pump out and replace it with a piece of hardline, but you can get a pickup cheap enough at a salvage.

When I would trim out the dashes, I always used abs and a soldering iron to "weld" the hole shut. I've seen people use duct tape. You will want to close the hole you make.

the 8's will not fit. the front may just barely tuck because of camber, but the rear will hit the fenders/bedsides. Yes you will need to bore them out to fit over the mazda hub.
