Paint MDF?

polyester primer. slick sand, feather fill, etc.. says right on the can it works on wood. its a sprayable body filler, so it's super thick. 3-4 coats of that, block it with 80, 220 and wet sand with 400, you'll be ready to paint, and have a straight box.
