hey whats up guys ok so i have bodydroped two of these style silverados but only 3" and i have used the 2x4 tubing its fine but frame is kinda close to the floor...now what im asking is i wanna bodydrop my 96 4" to the doors and i wanna know since the floor was close to the frame on the 3" bdrp using the 2x4...wuld it be safe to use 2x3 1/4 wall tubing to build a new frame to give me a lil more clearance under the cab for that extra inch im bodydroping it or should i use the 2x4 and if the cab hits the frame channel the cab?

come on guys..there has to be some one out there that knows somethin on this subject, all these hard ass laying 88-98 chevys and no one knows if its fine to use 2x3" 1/4 thick wall on a single cab fullsize frame if im wanting to do a 4" SFBD?

Why not use 3x3?

yea that would be fine but i like the 2" wide 3" tall because it will fits into the exsisting frame nicely on the silverados up front, but i guess i could always go with 3x3?..

i don't thank that 3x3 would be any stronger then 2x3.why not us 2x3 but run 4 rails instead of two?

2x3x1/4 will be fine. I am using 2x3x3/16 and goin to the doors on my tahoe.

Actually it only takes 3" on a tahoe to lay doors. The frames are different than a truck.
