I'm a member of RCU. Would it be good to look into getting a loan from them? Or is there somewhere better?

I think any credit union would be better than a bank- and one that you already belong to is even better!

i have been wanting to open up a shop for a long time now. For now i can live with doing installs out of my garage until my work is in such huge demand that i will need a shop. Plus im not charging a shit load of money to do whatever the job is. Main reason is i can't get my name out there on high ass prices. I'ld rather charge less & let my work speak for itself.

See one of the problems I have, is that when someone asks "Okay, where is the work done?" When I answer, in my garage, 70% of the time they hang up, and 20% of the time they slowly work their way out of it or never call back.

If youve got the space save to build a garage at your place, save the rent money and build a garage on your property.

My advice is have a sideline that will actually pay the bills. With a welder, a plasma cutter and all the other metal working tools, dont limit yourself strictly to automotive work unless you have a huge market and established customer base. I'm not sure what your area is like, but if you can, get your name out to a bunch of local industrial type places. They are always looking for people to build custom benches, tables, guardrails, you name it. You'd be blown away by what my work pays for racks, tables and other basic shit. Something like that will at least help pay the bills for awhile, then when things start going good, hire someone else to do that stuff and you help out where needed and otherwise work 100% on the automotive side.

Thats a good idea. But there happens to be a place out here already that builds gates, cabinets, benches and all sorts of things as a main source of income. That and they narrow axles. They are the go to place for that around here.

With all the bad ass work youve done for not only yourself but for others as well I dont think you will have trouble getting work! To promote his shop & friend of mine made flyers
& took them to shows along with his ride & it took some time but it eventually paid off!
Hell...I think it would be awesome as hell if
a magazine did a tech article on something that you do & you know how many people read Mini-Truckin!! Hope it all works out.

I'm not gonna pass out fliers at shows. Thats one thing that pisses me off. I might consider leaving a stack of fliers in the bed, once I put a floor in it.
