i would suggest spraying some test panels first, you might be able to go around to some body shops in your town and get some junk fenders to practice on. just look at the tech sheets, and use them as a "rule of thumb"..but dont be affraid to stray away from what they say. good luck!
someone mentioned spraying your clear with no reducer in it? i would not suggest that...there are steps to spraying it with LESS reducer..but NONE? ..umm good luck with that...
some clears its ok to spray with no reducer....and as far as how to spray ..the lable will has a sugjestion on how the product should be over laped..but i think its ust doing it over and over that tells you that ..some guys spray heavyer then others..and they might need a lil less over lap....as long as you stay in the basic guidlines of what the guys here have told you..around 50 to 75% and about 6 inches away...around three coats ..its gona be fine...you should for sure do a couple of practice panels though...and read the sugestions on the label.....good luck man..hope it terns out ...and hey at least no one started a 2 link/ 4 link hate thred here hahaha
hey guys, another tip becarfull for light metalics, they might look like a cloud in the sun, like milky.
An devery color/namebrand is differend in spraying, like some say spray a testpanel.
good luck
if you read this entire column you will realize that every one has tweeked the way to do it to a way that is comfortable for them. Me personally on every car truck bike what ever I spray 1 tacky coat then 2 wet coats and final coat is a mist coating shot about 1'6" up from the surface to line up all the metallics then clear , not saying its right not saying its wrong and not saying every one else is right or wrong. in my opinion an hour waiting time between base coat to clear coat and recomended flash times per clear coat manufacture. listen to every one and try it. grab the bull by the horns you can do it
damn too much thought just go and spray it if it messes up sand it and do it again i dont care how good you are you still will have imperfections that could be buffed out ...im glad i have 70+ degree weather my ish is dry before i can make it back around and they make different speed hardeners for your clear so choose the right one as far as the base its pretty hard to run or mess up base coat its thin and dries fast if its metallic just keep your pressure down to prevent it from getting splotchy
damn spicy looks like you have lots of money, paint ain't cheap you know that to,i think and i spray for a living that i need to go with coolpaintpr.,it'a all about practice and find your own twitch to spray it.
Spray testpannels if you not shore
it depends if ur using sealer if ur spraying metal over sealer u should take bout 4 coats of base make sure not to hold the gun so close to the panel when shooting metallic cause it will look like shit try to shoot bout 10 inches from panel but not to wet give it bout 8 minutes between each coat the when u clear give it a half wet coat then a full coat of clear thats all u need--2 coats
