Painting.........couple of ????'s

as far as the overlap goes 50-75 % overlap.. so people recomend 75 but by the time u put 3 coats on if u 50% it should be fine.. base coats need flash time 10-15 mins for base and clear, and 3 layers of clear should be fine dont really think a 4th or 5th coat of clear would make a diff

do you have to cut and buff>?

if it has orange peel/trash in it. almost all paint jobs has some sort of orange peel, cutting and buffing just makes it appear smoother and shinier.

vehicles from factory come with orange i mean it aint that hard to paint its pretty much simple just follow directions. and you dont have to be a pro to paint take yr time and have fun. i have been doing this stuff since i was a little kid. so have fun man

everyone is different, and every product is different. i know some people that spray base with a 50% overlap, and some use a 90% over lap...whatever works. as far as flash times, base coat has a 24 hour window...they recommend 15 minutes (look at the tech. sheets)..but really it wont hurt anything if you wait 24 hours, right?? i usually wait 45 minutes between coats of base, and a good hour before clear...but i also spray "show" cars and spray 5 coats of clear. as far as time between clear, i wait 30 minutes, but spraying 3 coats you should be good with 20. like someone said before, you cant prep enough. what level of paint job are you wanting to do? and who cares how much you make, i worked with a guy that made 80k a year that was the biggest hack in the world.
