got the bed frame/skeleton built. made from 1 1/2x 1 1/2" 1/8" wall box tube. front and rear beams are 2x4 1/8" box, two main lower rails, two upper rails under lips from cutting inner skin out, header and front supports. its very solid. rails had a little bit of an arc from the factory but ahh who needs it.. anyways, checked clearance needed for sides (wheel angles in higher and inward more than just laying out) and started cuttin up cardboard. got it to fit perfect on the bed skins and spaced up off the tires for clearance with my $700 "Snap On blanket spacer tool"

the big piece of cardboard is one i rolled to keep things straight across and slide the templates on to make things easier. now i can start up sheetmetal.

this will be my last work week for a while since im goin on vacation!!!!! Heather surprized me with a trip to Mexico, adults only, all inclusive, 7 day stay in Riveria Maya.. hotel is in the last pic! gonna be soo damn nice!

also jsut picked up my sheetmetal for tubs and bed floor but no more work till after vacation!

as for bodywork i will be doin it, slowly. once we get back from our trip we are starting house shopping so that will start taking up a lot of time.

resort is Adventura Spa Palace in Riveria Maya Mexico. http://www.palaceresorts.com/Resorts/AventuraSpaPalace/Index.asp

Vacation was unbelievable. I actually just let everything ride and forgot bout the truck right when we left the house on our ride to the airport and didnt think about it again! The place we went to was awesome, mexican people down there are sooo damn nice and appreciative and damn hard working. we tipped everyone like crazy and had the best time of our lives..

Also pulled the ultimate aprils fools day joke on heather.. I Proposed to her and she said YES! We arrived in mexico on the 1st and my plan was to do it down there on the 1st and all went good. i had a ring built and it was ready as promised for the trip.

anyways we got back and had some bad news with H's friend back home and have been busy with that. Also got my new puter built and new flat screen monitor. what a nice difference over the old 20" tube.

as for updates im about to go over to the shop to kick around some dust and play with my new bags. i ordered 4 HE-7s from AVS. I've been frustrated with things but Kris has been doin her best to take care of me.

since i have everything clearanced cept the huge frame notch for the truck LSx a/c unit, I have a lot of bracking/supporting to do. I'm contimplating choppin off the stock front stub and goin to a full custom frame front to back.

things i'll have to fill/brace/support if i dont build new.

-huge notch for a/c unit in lower pass side, -coil pockets trimed to the max,-tie rod notches trimmed out,-frame clearanced for LCA's,-front horns relocated and gussets needed,-delete power steering box and idler arm,-setup for custom rack n pinion.

we'll see what happens

cpl pics from the trip.
