painting problems

oh if you fog it on turn your gun wide open and hold it about 2 feet away,try running a chain from the frame to the floor(trust me it helps)

would it be ok to clear the truck today? or do i have to respray the base on the whole truck and then clear?

ok heres what is happing sounds like you are using to fast a redurcer that is were the dust witch is not dust it is dry overspary try a slower redurcer and then try lowering the psi on the gun and do a couple of drop coats on the roof

im using a medium reducer but ill try lowering the psi, im just wondering if i have to wet sand the whole truck or just the trouble areas that im reapplying basecoat will the clear stick to the paint i sprayed yesterday?

i would lightly sand the truck when i say lightly i mean just run over it like one pass down each panel basicly like if you were just wash sanding if that helps and i know most will not agree with me put i would dry sand this base with like 1500 and as you sand wipe it of with a tack rag you will have to blow and tack the truck real good before clear

with all the trainig iv had iv learned never to use any thing finer than 1000 grit cuz you have a risk of delaminaton and it depends on the brand of paint you are using on how long you can go with out clearing some brands have a 24 hour window some a week and some are indefinate

yea on the data sheet it says 7 day window to clear do i guess i have a lil time, i just wet sanded the whole truck with 1200, and cleaned it this time i did the dusting technique and let me tell you it looks alot better didn't totally get the one area even but definately improved it about 90% now i just got to wait till it dries tack and clear hopefully i wont mess up the clear
