Bump.. Back on this project and got a quick question.....Are you guys making these dashes removable or permanently welded in, scratch built or old dashes.  Probably pros and cons with both, Just wondering some opinions...

alot of the old ones were removable due to everything inside of them. but, some stuff had them in permanent stock. like alot of old vws. ive got a 67 international dash. i wanna stick it in my 78 toyota, but i also wanna go rhd. its a symetrical dash but im not sure how well it'll go doing that. i need to tear a stock one out at a junkyard to see what all is inside there. and most the vents and stuff are going, so that will help. if i dont use it in there, it'll go in my 89 ramcharger. just havent mocked it up or measured it for that. might not be tall enough for how much stuff is in that one stock.   im tryin to work out my bills and hopefully can get a nice welder with my tax return. bills are priority over truck stuff for sure though. i need to find a 3rd job.   anyways. heres a picture of the dash from that truck before i pulled it at the junkyard. i dont have the wheel, but i got everything else from in there.    making the cluster a glove box and the glove box a cluster would be the toughest part really. id be shavin the switch holes anyways. and that center section is going to flip down to expose the cd player. going to cut the stock am down and attach it to that door. maybe a couple leds in it to make it seem like its on at night. lol.
