the distributor shouldnt be an issue. the only problem i ever had was changing the tranny in mine i had to unbolt the motor mounts and pull the motor forward a little to get to the bellhousing bolts.

dude you do not even need a distributer and just get a saw and cut a hole to get it out thru your wiper cowl

I literally just went through this the past 2 days after putting the head on the motor and re-timing it. I am 2.75" stockfloored, and the distributor is impossible to take out at bodydropped height. My fenders and hood were off anyway, so I removed the front two body bolts and jacked the body up until it would pull out. I did all the timing and everything with a jack under the body. simple.

You can do basic stuff like change the cap/rotor pretty damn easy with it bodydropped. To pull it though, you have to jack the body up. For the extra 15 minutes it takes to jack the body up, it's not worth sacrificing the height you want.
