my consern is that i dunno if their running at optimum performance, 1 or the other, and 1 cant be getting more power than the other cause i switched both power wires and hooked them up 1 at a time and still no difference, i dunno its just kinda weird.

OH YEA!!! 1 of them gets hot!! the other 1 dosent!!! but they still are punping air, weather they are both on or hooked up seperatly

Come to think of it,...the loudest one of my 2 viar's blows the damn realay every so often??......I think the relay gets wet from the wheels and causes it to short out or somthing, but it's odd that it only happens to the louder one??? i dunno either,...weird??...lol "Lost Cause"

Try unhooking one first and test each by themselves to see if they sound the same as when your running 2. If they do then its the compressor. If they sound different when hooked up by themselves then their is probably a power loss to the second one. Test is with a amperage tester if you have one. If you running them together to the battery then try doing separate wires.
This would account for loss of power. Also make sure your running large enough wire. You don't need over kill, I would do about 6-8 gauge.

i unhooked 1 and ran it and un hooked the other and ran it and they sound different, i even switched power wires and ran them seperatly and they still sound different, so i dont think its a power loss, and its never blown a relay

i have seen the built in check valves hold back differnt amounts of pressure which causes a strain on the comp,,, hense one gets hot and the other dont may be due to a different amount of load on the comp...just a thought,,the checkvalves they use are pretty shitty

my two 380's do that also, and i don't know why. but i have a question.

the check valves in the leader hoses went bad, so i added some SMC check valves next to them. should i drill out the check valves in the leader hoses, since I put the additional ones in? maybe that is stopping some air flow and causing the noise problem, like ^^^he said

so im not sure what the problem is for sure but my viar 450 compressor doesnt seem to be putting air in my tank anymore. it kept running and running till my battery went dead.and seems like it takes forever to lift my truck up with the slow rate of air goin in the tank. is ther anything else anybody out ther thinks may be wrong other than my idea that the compressor is just going out? i understand that most the weight in my truck is in the front but the back lifts jus fine.im wondering if its just that thers not enough pressure in the tank to lift the heavier front end...im just learnin bout the mini truck seen and done research but i figure this site might save me time on this problem i got

If a compressor is running, then the compressor hasn't failed. If a compressor is not pumping air like it used to, then there's usually one or two things that can be done to bring back the performance.

1. Intake Valve - Replacements are available.
2. Check Valve/Leader Hose - Replacements are also available.

If a compressor quits completely, usually the thermal overload protector has failed and by that time, your carbon brushes are usually pretty FUBAR too. Replacing the rear cover that contains new carbon brushes and a new thermal overload will often do the trick.

About the only time a compressor is a lost cause, if if the armature (motor) is so badly damaged from electrical failure, or from moisture damage that it can't get good contact between the commutator and carbon brushes, or between the motor itself and the magnetic field around it (magnets in the motor case).
