lmao this is a good one... i hear this all day, about reception in the house or the phone sucks, i work for sprint/nextel, what he needs to do is call into his provider and bitch and complain that his service sucks at in his billing area and anywhere he goes and threaten to cancel the service and tell them that he got a better offer from another provider with no contract extension andthey were gonna get the phone to him at a very discountd price and give him a couple hundred bonus minutes also.. see wyhat kinda deal they throw back at you to keep you as a custoemr, beside the razr is piece of shit phone to begin with... that is one reason whyt everyone gives it away with new line of service...

you can laugh all you want, but when me and my fiance are sitting on the sofa together and she's got better service then i do and we are on the same plan.. its my phone. She can goto my work and have service, I get nothing inside of my building. My sidekick got the same reception she does with her Razr.

I can almost guarantee its his phone, we talk on the phone ALL the time and have talked many many times while he's home with no breaking up, no static, no drop calls. now he has no service there and his wife does.

Alltel uses simcards or at least some do. Sprint/AT&T, Cingular, etc do as well. Im on Verizon, they do not use the sim cards. What kind of phone are you using? There are a number of things that can cause poor reception. Im a level 2 certified cell repair tech, working on level 3 certification, ill help ya out if i can.

Sprint doesnt use sim cards.

Here was My experience with an unlocked phone. I have t-mobile. I bought an "Unlocked" phone that used to be a cingular. My sim worked in it fine. I could make and recieve both calls and texts. but I could not go online with it to get ringtones, games anything that would involve me linking up with the phones web brouser

99.9 % it is his phone... cause the software in the phones is only desiognd to last so long before it needs to be updated, also how he treats the phone will also affect it such as droping the phone and so on, and also just cause one phone work in side the house and one doesnt dont put blame on the phone this is a air radio frequency were dealin with the wind can blow just right and you can loose your signal...eever notice how you can stand in one spot ad have full signal and move two feet and loose a couple of bars of strength.. hmm radio frequency.. it is not perfect and never will be no cell provider can promise you no dropped calls,it will never happen... if that is not good enough then geta land line phone... lol sprint phone DO NOT have sim cards they only phones that we have that have sim cards are the Nextel phone and the hybrid phone that use both sprint and nextel in the same phone... again the razor is a piece anyways...and so is the sidekick.. they are cheaply made.. trust me i deal with this on a daily basis..

any unlocked phone that takes a sim card will work . just look for "gsm unlocked" on ebay. youll find a million choices! the only phones you cant use are sprint and verizon because they dont accept sim cards / gsm.

all you had to do was call t-mobile and have them send you the service pack for t-mobile on that particular handset. its basically like reprogramming the phone...

here is the link to reprogram the phone yourself

even though a nextel has a sim card you can't use it on cingular. I tried, they use two different types of signals. You can still see all your contacts and such but you wont be able to connect to a signal. Also, most cell phone providers don't use analog (radio frequencies) as a primary source anymore.

a nextel phone wont work becasue its on sprints network and sprint isnt gsm. the only major u.s. gsm networks i know of are cingular and t-mobile

hahah ok you need to do some research... nextel operates on a IDEN network and is private, they do not use anyones cell towers and noone uses theirs.. sprint runs on a cdma network...this is why nextel phones do roam on other network, unless you get close to cananda border and then it will run on the canadian network TELIS. but other than that it is own network, people think since the merger that the phone runs on sprint towers, it is physically impossible, cause sprint is a CDMA and uses a 1800Mhz frequency and nextel run on the IDEN network and operates on 900Mhz frequency.. so it no way possible for the 2 phones to use the same network...
