unique auto aka holy terrible work batman

not to be a hater, but I have to call em as I see em. I've been watching the unique auto show on Speed, and all I have to say is wow. When was the last time you saw someone spray painting plastics on the inside of a 40 grand truck without covering for overspray? then the paint falls off cause, duh at one point it was probably armor all'ed. The owner takes huge offense to being called a hack shop, but watches his "master installer" taking huge shortcuts. Have some pride in your work. Do you notice that the only time any good work comes out of the place is when they farm most of the work out to real shops. I know there's probably been 20 forums about this already, but I'm not a forum snob so I don't care. Why charge top dollar and bill yourself as a top shop when you rattle can SEMA work?

i totally agree with you... i run/own a shop in las vegas and it bugs the piss out of me that that fool can charge top dollar, for swap meet quality work..

i'd be pissed if i was spending the amount of money that these guys are paying to have a shit job done...

any major paint work i do at my shop gets sent out to a professional painter, and gets done properly... not only so the customers keep happy, but so i can feel confident knowing the customer got a good quality job that i can stand behind...

Glad to see some people other than me think the show is a JOKE. I watch it occsionally when I need a good laugh.

That episode with the Lincoln Continental, where they took the dash out behind the shop (outside!) to rattle can it white...
I wouldn't even do that in my garage... for FREE!
I can only imagine what that customer paid for some spray paint- unreal that these celebrities don't see them for what they are!

honestly tho.... he's friends with 50 cent. (thats his boy!) that counts for something.

when they did the caddy with the all white guts ogd .some of the boxes they build look like you could roll to a shop and get get it chunked in the back . i will say however the suede headliners they put in EVERYTHING looks pretty cool. also honestly i was at a shop they sprayed spies heck and it sucked just my thoughts

well alot of the rattle can was b4 they got the paintboth and bodyguys ....but even with that they still do crapy work...and he is licky i dont work for him cause he is a dick and thinks most of the shit can be done quick as fuck...
