unique auto aka holy terrible work batman

Good Thread. Everytime I watch the show I get mad lol. I'm Like damn people are getn so fucked on this shit! Some of the stuff I have seen on there has been decent but there is way more shitty things than good. The worst was definately the caddy spray canned white and the Tahoe they sprayed the interior. WTF!

I remenber one of the earlier episodes, he quoted some kid like 20 grand for a basic system and a few interior upgrades. The kid laughed and walked out. Will started going off, "I knew he wasn't hard core enough". no, he wasn't stupid enough, it was a 4 or 5 grand job , at the most....

I'll give Will credit thou, Will is one hell of a good salesman and self promoter. he made himself rich and famous by selling hack jobs, in an industry where most shop owners can bairly scrape by selling a quality products.....

i like when they rattle can all the interior pieces and never get rid of the texture on them, look at the interior pieces on the red hummer in the opening credits

Gumby had a talk with them at SEMA when the magnum was there. About their spray paint interiors (inside the ride), mdf boxes etc. Real shops do fiberglass boxes. "What you got? You're just a hater".

I saw the one with 50 cent on it for some shoot. And he basically laid it out, Wil does all our rides. He has to do what we say and how we like it or we will take ours and all our friends rides somewhere else. Most are making some much $ right now they don't give a shit what you can get it for. They just know what they want.

At least if the shop takes a dump he can be an oompa loompa on the next willie wonka because that boy is short.

The main thing about their clientel is that they don't know any better. They're a bunch of idiots with more money then sense and don't know the difference between quality work and what they are getting. I'm sure the majority of them just want to be on television. You guys are very talented and don't need to prove yourselves in my book. I would gladly pay just about any of you to work on my vehicles than that shop. Because I guarantee Will would not want to deal with me when I call him out on his shitty work.

I totally agree. But I have seen on both sides of the story though. I work for a shop that builds custom resto-mod type cars. The place i work has had a couple cars win big awards at sema in recent years. We deal with quite a few of the mainstream big name builders and ever shop has their issues. Stuff you will look at as hacked and going the cheap route. Its inevitable. The phrase "If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself." comes to mind. Thats why building your own vehicle to every detail that you want is so rewarding. If someones willing to pay for work that probably could have been done better, more power too them. It just sucks to see certain things done on tv shows that the uneducated masses take as the right way, and best way to do something.

thats right..and in that whole scene the more somthing costs...the cooler it is..it dosent matter if its worthless or not..it makes you a baller....i bought my rims 2nd hand ...for cheap..

I saw the work they did on the topless race car at CES 07 it looked like ass. I would have been ashamed to have my name anywhere on that car. But if you talk to him it's top notch.
