yes you are correct james. Does anyone have any idea on what a rough estimate on having the rear end narrowed would be. I called a local machine shop and when i asked about maching the wheels down they basically told me i was insane for even thinking about that. I've heard of people doing it before though so i'm gonna look into that idea also

My truck does the same thing, I am having my shortened 1 1/4 because I am sfbd the truck too the axles are @ 240 and I have someone shortening the tubes for 140

a buddy of mine mentioned getting alil shorter axles and doing a disc brake setup im skeptical if this would work but then again i don't need much at all ne thoughts?

Pretty sure ranger rear ends use tapered axles no? Plus they are hideous as all hell anyways.

Get a yota diff man.

i do belive the ranger axles are tapered but mosier makes new ones all day long

yea the axles are tapered, anyone think the disc brake conversion would work?

umm i dont think they taper, yota rear end would work the best IMO. the universal joint from the ranger to the yota is the same part number fyi

If you get a rear end with disc brakes they are actually alittle wider than ones with drums....
