none they all suck and your door will fly open after you hit the first bump. the latches suck from all of them. dont believe me ask scr8pin92yota he will tell ya. ruined our project truck

After selling over 1,000 of our bear claw latches, not to mention running a set on our project Gremlin, I'm going to argue that our latches DON'T suck, and WON'T fail if they're installed properly.I WOULD recommend a deadbolt latch on any daily-driven car with suicide doors, because even if the latches don't fail, it would be easy for someone to bump the handle/ hit the button and open your doors when you're in motion...There are several cable-actuated deadbolts, and a few electric ones, available online and in the rod magazines- a cheap investment to keep your doors intact!

I agree with the deadbolts...yes they are alil more but you won't have to worry about your door opening

I also recommend bear claw latches. I personally use the power bear claw slim line and have never had a problem with them. The beauty of it is that its all one built in unit, solenoid and latch. Good price too!agree with that, power bear claws are the way to go. Really nice design, and the dual locking on them really makes it impossible to give way like a stock latch "could". And with the low cost of them, you cant loose.

All of the Wagoneer hinges front and rear work.

sure about that? Im pretty sure the rear doors are more piano style hinges. Also can get them from 57 chevy's and corvairs....I also rob junkyards blind of door hinges

My solution to deadbolts... Autoloc's locking bearclaws. I setup a power lock actuator on them, and you can electrically lock the bearclaw. This jams a 1/8" piece of steel behind the claws, so there is NO WAY they can open when the latches are shut. The actuators will hold the locking mechanism down. All of this hides inside the door. I am going to wire them so that when I turn the key, they lock, and when the key is off, they unlock.

yeah, must be nice to have a cnc at your disposal, lol. I really dug those hinges iha did, though. I wish i could blink and my shit would be done. Can any of the avs peeps on here explain to me where the knob of their deadbolt is? I have suicided back doors on the burb, and i've been trying to figure out a way to keep my 3 year old from opening them going down the road. She's somehow figured out how to hit the lock, open the door, and roll down the window in the vibe, it is much scarier thinking of her doing that in the burb.

child locks? look at a newer vehicle and see how its child locks are done and see if you can somehow incorporate them into the burb. thats all my retarded ass can think of.

Put the back doors power on a switch up front, when she back there flip the switch so no power goes to the back and she cannt do any damage.

make latches like the ones I made and wire a switch like uncle fester said... Cheaper and cleaner than deadbolts.
