What suicide hinge?

just wondering what hinge is the best? It seems like the prices are all over the place.AVS $125FBI $160SD $430 what makes the difference between them?

I bought the FBI kit, havent had any problems yet, and its been over a year now. But after looking at the SD kit, they look to have a few better options that are handy, however I cant justify the price difference for hidden dome light switches or instructions. Any instructions you'd get are just going to be pretty basic and general, because every application is going to be different, right? The FBI kit had no instructions, but I came on here and got advice from a few guys and it turned out great!

70's jeep wagoneer hinges....$5/each x4= $20 plus steel...proven method to work.
difference is the suicidedoors.com hinges are fuckin large beefy bitch's. cheap autoloc ones will work as long as your not suiciding a 800lb door.

The only problem with the Wagoneer hinges is that they are not flush mount hinges. I know this because its what I used on my truck. They use two bolts in the front of the hinge and a large bolt in the rear of the hinge. You could weld them in but you lose some of the adjustabilty. Also they are getting hard to come by because guys like me go to the junk yard and buy everyone they have there, lol.

guy wanted some autolocs on his 77 monte at my shop. they look okay for a mini door or rice burner but i wouldnt run them on a fullsize or something with a long door. like a monte. plus, that car the body line curves out too far. it ended up going all custom pocketed style like Ihas 4dr chevy.

What about the set from AIM? They any good?

i bought the ones from avs and a friend of mine bought the fbi ones and they are indentical and are sturdy as hell

I got a set from gauge a few years back. Side by side, They are just as beefy as the SD ones. I think I only paid $120 or so
