has anyone heard of "ALVINS LAB METAL"? its almost like a bondo consistancy but it has metal in it. what if i make brackets to bolt it down and use that to fill the gap in between the metals?

i think you just use pure argon..im not positive on that..your welder supply place should be able to point you in the right direction..i just remember having a separate small bottle we used when we wanted to mig with that wire...

for silicon bronze MIG it is 100% argon

Lab metal is used a lot in the powder coating industry. They make a high heat version that will withstand the heat when they bake the coating. I have never used it but I heard it has a very low shelf life

im just worried about it cracking like bondo. on any of the methods of repair. i dont want to drive it for a year or month and have it cracking out
