"built not bought"

to me if the vehicle didnt come off the assembly line the way it is, then it is built, who gives a shit "who" built it. but someone obviously built it.

i always get, "man i remember being drunk in that thing" ...haha it gets kind of annoying but im over it

ITS THE SAME AS YOU PAYIN A SHOP TO BUILD IT FOR YOU BUT YOU DONT HAVE TO WAIT A YEAR FOR IT WHILE THERE BUILDIN IT! IF ITS HOW YOU WANT IT THEN HAVE FUN WITH IT. I BOUGHT A FULLY BUILT TRUCK AND LOVE IT MORE AND MORE EVERYDAY!

Sounds like jealousy to me. Thats what haters do, they see that you have a nicer truck and it pisses them off so they try and put you down to make them feel better about them self.

Any real car guy will appreciate a well built custom car regardless of whether you built it or bought it. The way i see it, we are all on the same team; so why bash your teammates?

In my opinion, like has already been said, as long as you dont claim the work what is the big deal? Also think about the people that do build these badass trucks/cars and then sell them, if noone would build them they would have a garage full of vehicles that noone would ever see again just my $.02

Just smile and walk away knowing that you probably have less into it then they ever will. They give you any crap just ask them how they will fund their next POS, sell their current truck? Tell them good luck cause it is hard to sell due to that mentality.

i'm in the exact same situation except my truck is about 500 miles away, lol. And i bought mine built, and guess what? Now i have to pay a shitload of money to unfuck my "built" ride. Dude said it almost would have been easier to do one from scratch. I also don't have the know how or time to do suspension work, i'm having him do all the stuff i can't (suspension, new sheet metal floor, etc.) and when i get it back, i'm going to do the stuff i can do (interior, stereo, etc.)

Also, i love that the same guys on this site that holler "do it yourself!" or "built not bought!" are the first ones to jump down someone's throat who posts pics of trying to weld the first time and says how unsafe, scary, and piece of shit it is.

and Micah, don't worry, i still love your jimmy, i remember it being outside my hotel at the last showfest and i just drooled over it. Also like your feature in domination where you say "fuck boyd coddington". Well, not to speak ill of the dead, but i was thinking along those same lines...
